Social Services Consulting Group
The agencies assisted by NESCs Social Services Group are the most numerous and diverse of all the groups NESC serves. Our clients' missions fall into at least 25 categories, but these missions share a common commitment to serve the most vulnerable in American society.
NESC has been involved with agencies that serve the homeless, immigrants, the disabled, persons with chemical dependencies, people living with AIDS, families struggling with domestic violence, individuals needing suicide prevention, and the incarcerated. We help organizations that feed the poor, provide affordable housing and protect the environment. Many of our clients work with specific ethnic or religious groups. We also serve agencies specializing in a single disease for which they raise funds, sponsor research and provide advocacy. And our clients serve all age groups, from children and youth to adults and senior citizens.
As one might expect, such a diverse group has more than its share of needs. Many need strategic planning, which helps an organization reexamine its mission, assess reality factors and possibly shift its emphasis. Few organizations have enough funding or certainty of funding. We have helped many develop discretionary pools of funds to tide them over in emergencies and to finance new initiatives. We also help agencies effectively manage internal affairs, improve accounting practices and management information systems, develop public relations and marketing programs, carefully address sensitive personnel issues, and develop more dynamic boards of directors.
NESC's social service clients also have in common a condition of operating with staffs as lean as their resources. They rely on community support -- financial and otherwise -- to make a go of it. Partnering with NESC provides another type of experienced support that helps make it work.
If you're managing a social service organization and you have a hunch that a little help could make a difference, contact us today for a no-cost initial consultation.
